After having the laparoscopic procedure, Dunn will stay with the team and travel back to Chicago on the team charter Wednesday night. The White Sox play the Tampa Bay Rays in their home opener on Thursday afternoon.

Dunn played against the Royals on Tuesday night and was replaced on the basepaths by Brent Lillibridge in the 12th inning of the White Sox's 7-6 loss to the Royals.

Dunn, the White Sox's biggest offseason acquisition after signing a four-year, $56 million contract, is batting .286 with a home run and 5 RBIs.
